Flights, trains and ways to arrive
Most visitors arrive at Václav Havel Airport (PRG), about 17 km from the centre. There's no metro to the airport, but getting into town by public transport is easy and cheap.
✈️ From the airport to the centre
🚌 Bus 59 + metro line A · the cheapest option
- Price: one 90-minute ticket, CZK 46 (≈ €1.90) in the PID Lítačka app or CZK 50 on paper.
- Time: 35–45 minutes to the Old Town.
Take bus 59 to Nádraží Veleslavín, then metro line A into the centre (Můstek, Staroměstská or Malostranská). The same ticket covers both. Buy it in the app, from the machines at the stop or at the public transport desk in the terminal.
🚍 Airport Express (AE) · straight to the main station
- Price: CZK 200 (≈ €8.20); children aged 6–15, CZK 100.
- Time: about 35 minutes to the main station (Hlavní nádraží).
Handy if you have luggage or are staying near the station. It has its own ticket: regular public transport tickets aren't valid.
🚕 Uber Airport · the official taxi
- Price: around CZK 450–600 (≈ €18.50–25) to the centre, depending on traffic and demand.
- Time: 25–40 minutes.
Uber is the airport's official partner, with cars waiting outside arrivals at Terminals 1 and 2. Book in the app, at a kiosk or at its desk. You'll get a six-digit PIN to give to the driver. Bolt also works, but picks up from the car parks.
🚆 Arriving by train or coach
- Train: international trains from Vienna, Berlin, Munich, Budapest and Kraków arrive at the main station (Praha hlavní nádraží), on metro line C and a 10-minute walk from Wenceslas Square.
- Long-distance coach: FlixBus, RegioJet and others arrive at Florenc coach station, on metro lines B and C.
